Report

Rovers lost at home to the Lions but the score line didn’t do the home team justice.  The difference between the two teams was the clinical finishing of Reid who scored four of his teams five goals. Bayly and Ruddock got Rovers goals but ROBINSON, Attwood and Cox all went close with excellent efforts. What was a disappointing aspect of the game was the attitude of one of the visitor’s players who feigned a head injury and then proceeded to think the episode was funny by pretending to be unconscious and then getting up and laughing ... what was apparent was a playing colleague of his was injured and being put into an ambulance at the side of the pitch and this idiot acted disgracefully!

Notwithstanding this players actions the game was played in good spirits until the referee lost control of the game and made a major mistake which unbalanced the teams; he quite rightly sent off Wiggins for the home team for violent conduct (retaliation) but he should have also sent off the right back for the visitors who started the mêlée.

MOM for Rovers was Tom Robinson whose energy was superb and the team as a whole played extremely well and should be encouraged by their performance.
